Pieces made by hand
and made for you.

A small, independent womenswear atelier in Hackney. Bespoke commissions, made-to-measure occasionwear and a handful of considered pieces a year. Cut, sewn and finished by Mya.

The atelier

One pair of hands, start to finish.

Everything that leaves Mya M.Designs has been touched by one person — me.

The atelier sits above a print workshop in Hackney. We start with a conversation, move on to a sketch and a fabric meeting, and end with a piece you'll wear for years rather than a season. No outsourced finishing, no template patterns, no factory-floor shortcuts.

It's a small operation by design. I take on a handful of commissions a month so each one gets the time it deserves.

Ways to work with me

Bespoke, made-to-measure, or a piece off the rail.

i

Full bespoke commission

A piece designed for you from a blank page. Two or three fittings over six to ten weeks. From considered separates to occasion gowns and small wedding work.

ii

Made-to-measure from existing patterns

House silhouettes cut to your body. Shorter turnaround, lower price, same finishing. A good route in if you've not commissioned before.

iii

Alterations & reworks

Inherited a beautiful dress that doesn't quite fit? Got a piece you love that's seen better days? Bring it in — most reworks turn around in two to three weeks.

iv

Small-run capsule pieces

A handful of pieces a year, made in editions of three to eight. Sold through the studio and a couple of independent stockists. Sign up below to be told first.

I went to Mya for my wedding dress and ended up wearing it again at a birthday two years later. That's the bit a high-street piece doesn't do.

What a consultation actually involves.

A first consultation is free, no obligation, and about ninety minutes. By the end of it we'll both know whether commissioning is right for you — and if it is, exactly what it'll cost.

  1. A conversation about the piece, the occasion, and how you'd want to feel in it.
  2. A look through fabric and finishing options I think would suit it.
  3. Initial measurements (we'll do a full body block later if we go ahead).
  4. A written quote within three working days — fixed, with stages clearly broken out.
